Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Structural Engineer experienced in structural damage assessment and failure analysis of commercial, residential, and industrial structures. This remote role supports work from a home-based office with travel as needed, ideally located in the greater Los Angeles area or Southern California.

Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a PE license (preferred, multi-state licensing).

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred; multi-state licensing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine origin and cause of structural failures and assess related damages.
• Survey losses at residential and commercial buildings.
• Investigate to document scope of damage from recent acute events.
• Investigates and assesses damages due to failures and determines origin for insurers and litigation support.
• Analyze and document failure analysis and causation of failures.
• Collaborates with other investigators to produce detailed reports outlining cause and origin of losses.
• Serves as an expert witness in court or depositions.
• Documents and maintains billable hours for forensic engineering projects.
