Job summary

Secretariat is a consulting firm helping clients solve complex business problems across law, risk, and regulatory challenges. This role is part of the Forensic Investigations team, focusing on economic damages, forensic accounting, and expert reporting from a remote Las Vegas-area base.

You’ll work with accountants, economists, PhDs, and industry specialists, analyzing data and preparing findings for hearings, trials, and mediations. Strong reporting and Excel/CapIQ knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or MBA from an accredited university.
• 4+ to 10 years of experience in economic damages and/or forensic accounting.
• Holder of or pursuing CPA, CFF, CFA, CFE, ASA or ABV credentials is must.
• Strong expert report writing skills to complement strong analytics and quantitative skills.
• Able to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations and develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems
• Excellent analytical and problem resolution abilities
• Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; SQL, R are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct economic, valuation, financial, accounting, and industry research as needed.
• Analyze financial and non-financial information, and report findings to other team members from public sources. Experience with S&P’s CapIQ is a plus.
• Attention to detail is a must and significant experience with the preparation of damages models, forensic accounting investigative, and expert reports are a must.
• Must be able to work independently in managing staff and communicating with experts, clients and counsel.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, trials and mediations, so as needed travel from time to time is required.
• Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements and associated duties.
