Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical and discreet Remote Forensic Accountant to conduct investigations into financial irregularities and potential fraud. You will examine financial records, trace assets, and provide expert analysis and testimony related to disputes and criminal activities.

This fully remote role requires independence, strong accounting expertise, and outstanding report writing and communication skills while collaborating with legal teams and investigators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's or CPA preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent forensic accounting certification.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in forensic accounting, auditing, or investigative roles.
• Proven ability to conduct complex financial investigations remotely and independently.
• Expertise in data analysis tools and techniques for financial investigations.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed forensic accounting investigations into allegations of fraud, embezzlement, and financial misconduct.
• Analyze financial data, identify anomalies, and trace financial transactions to uncover illicit activities.
• Prepare comprehensive forensic accounting reports detailing findings, methodologies, and evidence.
• Assist legal counsel in case preparation, including providing expert witness testimony in legal proceedings.
• Quantify financial losses and damages resulting from fraudulent activities.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards throughout investigations.
