Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation's Lemont refinery seeks an experienced Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer for the Reliability Department. This on-site role focuses on ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operation of fixed equipment assets including heat exchangers, pressure vessels, boilers, and piping.

The position collaborates across Inspection, Maintenance, Operations, Turnaround, and Capital Projects, with a salary range of $104,000–$140,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2 years of engineering experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Refinery/chemical plant/heavy industrial facility experience preferred.
• Familiarity with codes: ASME I/VIII, API 510/570/571.
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; PI experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to refinery area team and others.
• Perform incident investigations to identify root causes and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot issues with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, bolted joints, etc.
• Evaluate equipment damage mechanisms with Inspection and Corrosion Engineers.
