Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation's Lemont refinery seeks an experienced Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer to support all fixed equipment assets, including heat exchangers, pressure vessels, boilers, and piping. This on-site role collaborates with Inspection, Maintenance, and Capital Projects to assure safe, compliant operation.

Qualifications include a mechanical/civil engineering degree, 2+ years of related experience (5+ preferred), and familiarity with ASME/API standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2 years of job-related engineering experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience at a refinery, chemical plant, or heavy industrial facility preferred.
• Familiarity with ASME/API standards (ASME Section I, VIII; API 510/570/571) preferred.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PI preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.
• Valid Driver's License; able to obtain TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the refinery area team and others.
• Perform incident investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Troubleshoot issues with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, bolted joints, etc.
• Collaborate with Inspection and Corrosion Engineers on reliability improvements.
• Participate in Corrosion Control Documents and Integrity Operating Windows.
