Openkrill is a backfill role focused on a financial crime program for a payments platform. You will manage a full caseload of AML investigations across crypto and fiat, draft SARs, and help improve detection rules.

The role requires hands-on use of blockchain analytics tools and a solid understanding of regulatory guidance. Remote opportunity with US business hour overlap, starting salary is $2,000 USD per month, with unlimited PTO.

Formación

• 2 to 4 years in AML or CFT investigations, with at least 2 years in sanctions or AML work.
• Fintech experience, early stage fintech background a plus.
• Hands on experience with a transaction monitoring system and case management tool, not just exposure to one.
• Practical experience with at least one blockchain analytics platform such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, or Elliptic.
• Familiarity with BSA and FinCEN guidance, EU AML directives and MiCA, and FATF Travel Rule.
• Track record of writing SAR narratives yourself, not just supporting someone else's filing.
• Full professional English.

Responsabilidades

• Carry a caseload of transaction monitoring alerts across crypto and fiat rails with documented rationale.
• Trace funds across multiple blockchains and surface exposure to mixers, sanctioned wallets, darknet markets, and high risk exchanges.
• Reconcile on-chain findings against KYC, KYB, and fiat banking records to reach defensible conclusions.
• Draft SAR narratives and supporting evidence that hold up with minimal rework.
• Disposition sanctions and adverse media alerts, including wallet screening and escalation of true matches.
• Spot recurring typologies or false positive patterns and push them back into the monitoring rules and risk scoring.
• Build working relationships across onboarding, legal, risk, data, and support to move investigations forward.
