Job summary

OpenRouter is seeking a Software Engineer on the Developer Products team to build and own the developer-facing surfaces—APIs, SDKs, docs, CLI, and other tools. You’ll own the public REST API and ensure a smooth experience for external developers across languages and platforms.

You’ll ship and expand TypeScript and Python SDKs, release the Agent SDK for multi-step workloads, and treat examples as products. Collaboration with DevRel, Product, and Platform teams will drive ecosystem growth.

Qualifications

5+ years building external-facing developer products — APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms widely used by engineers.
Strong API and SDK design instincts; you've shipped libraries that developers integrate with.
Strong TypeScript skills; you're part of a TypeScript shop and use it across the stack.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve our public REST API and the developer experience around it.
Build and maintain client SDKs in TypeScript and Python, lead SDK launches.
Ship and expand the Agent SDK for multi-step, agentic workloads.
Treat documentation, examples, and starter repos as products; ensure strong entry points for OpenRouter.
Make every developer-facing surface agent-friendly; collaborate to close ecosystem gaps.
