Job summary

Coinbase is a remote-first company building the future of finance. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Blockchain Networks team, you will own multi-quarter initiatives to design and deliver blockchain network infrastructure and platform APIs, driving latency, reliability, and cost improvements.

You will partner with product and platform teams to ship SDKs and platform primitives, while maintaining strong API contracts and observability.

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience across production services in a service-oriented architecture.
Proven track record designing, scaling, and maintaining distributed systems with high throughput and low latency.
Hands-on experience with at least two of Golang, Kafka, Redis, or MongoDB.
Direct experience with blockchain protocols or crypto infrastructure (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin, or similar L1/L2 networks).
Ability to decompose complex systems into well-bounded microservices with clear API contracts.

Responsibilities

Own the design and delivery of blockchain network infrastructure that abstracts blockchain complexity into reliable, platform APIs.
Lead multi-quarter initiatives including new chain integrations and data migrations to improve latency, reliability, and cost.
Define and maintain APIs, SLOs, and observability for the systems you build, including on-call ownership.
Partner with product and platform teams to establish data contracts and ship SDKs and platform primitives.
Build deep technical context across multiple blockchain protocols and apply it to simplify cross-chain operations.
