Job summary

Helius is seeking an intermediate Platform/Infrastructure engineer to automate the server lifecycle end-to-end, standardize how we build and deploy software to machines, and drive the security roadmap. Qualifications

• Ownership mindset: you own the systems you touch and automate repetitive work.
• 3+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering.
• Hands-on bare metal provisioning and hardware management experience.
• Deep Linux fundamentals: systemd, networking, storage, performance tuning.
• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Nix).
• Scripting or programming ability in Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
• Security mindset: you think about access, secrets, and blast radius by default.

Responsibilities

• Automate the server lifecycle end to end: provisioning, OS installs, configuration, hardware validation, and decommissioning.
• Build and maintain tooling to interact with the fleet so no machine is hand-configured twice.
• Standardize software build/deploy to machines: CI pipelines, artifacts, deploy tooling, and rollbacks.
• Execute security roadmap items: SSO, jump hosts, secrets management, least-privilege access, audits.
• Run cost analysis across the fleet and translate into recommendations.
• Improve observability for owned infrastructure and participate in on-call and incident response.
• Write runbooks and docs for remote team operations.
