Job summary

Imaginary Cloud is seeking a senior backend engineer with a strong focus on Kotlin to join our distributed systems team. You will design microservices for cloud-native environments on AWS and Kubernetes, ensure reliable data handling with PostgreSQL, and contribute to testing and observability using JUnit, Testcontainers, Grafana.

Fluency in English is required, and applicants living in Portugal or eligible to work there are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with a strong focus on Kotlin in server-side development.
• Hands-on experience designing distributed systems and microservices.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Testcontainers) and observability tools (Grafana).
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
• Prefers candidates living in Portugal or eligible to work there.
