Actalent in Texas seeks an Ignition SCADA Controls Engineer to design and develop Ignition-based SCADA and HMI interfaces for modern building automation and energy management systems in commercial and industrial settings.

The role focuses on system development, operator-focused UI/UX, and backend configuration within a distributed controls environment, including BACnet/Modbus integration and PLC connectivity, with collaboration across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Ignition SCADA/HMI development experience.
• Experience configuring gateways, projects and modules.
• Experience building dashboards and UI for HVAC/facility operations.
• Knowledge of PLC integration (Allen-Bradley).
• Knowledge of BACnet and Modbus protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design Ignition-based SCADA/HMI systems for BMS/EMP.
• Build and configure dashboards, graphics, and UIs for HVAC.
• Develop system architecture: tags, alarms, trends, navigation layouts.
• Configure Ignition gateways, projects, and modules for reliability.
• Set up network communication between field devices and servers.
• Integrate control systems with PLCs using BACnet/Modbus.
• Support data collection, visualization, and reporting on energy use.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on design, deployment, troubleshooting.
• Assist remote commissioning and validation.
• Ensure scalable, standardized, and user-friendly solutions.
