Qualifications

• 10 years' experience of commercial software development.
• Proven second-line leader with experience managing Engineering Managers.
• Experience in product-focused company with backlog of initiatives.
• Mentorship and career planning for team members.
• Hands-on design and building of scalable systems.
• Strong problem decomposition and cross-functional collaboration.
• Leadership in driving major projects and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing technical team by hiring, training, and mentoring engineers.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture and champion Agile development processes.
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget.
• Show leadership as a hands-on developer in multiple layers of the software stack and data stack; perform code and design reviews.
• Work closely with principal engineers to drive technology strategy and roadmap aligned to the organisation vision.
• Collaborate with Product Manager to prioritize product features and engineering tasks balancing business results and robustness.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align goals and timelines.
• Define and enforce engineering best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
