Job summary

KoBold Metals is seeking experienced Data Scientists (Senior Staff, Staff, and Senior roles) to build predictive models and 2D/3D geologic predictions, collaborating with top geoscientists to identify ore deposits. You will develop data tools and manage a worldwide dataset while quantifying uncertainty in predictions.

You will join a fast-growing, remote-first team, travel to exploration sites, and contribute to discoveries that accelerate our battery metals program.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python data science packages and software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with Git, unit/integration tests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience analyzing data from physical systems and geospatial data.

Responsibilities

• Develop proprietary software exploration tools.
• Curate and integrate geophysical, geochemical, geologic, and geographic data.
• Build predictive models for ore-forming processes and mineralization locations.
• Create visualizations to evaluate model performance and data features.
• Apply data processing, statistics, and physics-based techniques to geoscientific data.
• Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders.
