Job summary

KoBold Metals is seeking a computational hardware and data specialist to build and deploy state-of-the-art mineral exploration instruments. You will simulate, calibrate sensors, and deploy data acquisition systems in the field, working with vendors and KoBold’s operations team.

You will develop models and software to accelerate discovery of battery metals, collaborating with geoscientists to convert data into actionable exploration targets.

• Successful track record of developing complex equipment with cross-disciplinary teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy new mineral exploration data collection instruments and methods.
• Help develop KoBold’s proprietary software exploration tools.
• Find and curate diverse geospectral, geophysical, geochemical, geologic and geographic data and integrate into KoBold’s data system.
• Build models to predict locations of compositional anomalies within the Earth’s crust.
• Create visualizations to evaluate model performance and enable rapid data interaction.
• Develop data processing, statistics, and physics-based techniques for geoscience data and guide acquisition decisions.
• Present to and collaborate with external partners and stakeholders.
• Advance analysis capabilities with spatial clustering and anomaly detection techniques.
• Collaborate with data scientists, geoscientists and engineers to deploy multi-source data solutions.
