Job summary

BPR Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our growing company and serve our clients. This position may be remote and is hourly as needed.

The successful candidate will perform plan reviews, develop fire protection and life safety system designs (sprinklers, alarms, smoke control), review construction documents, and coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and AHJs to ensure compliance with CBC, CFC, NFPA, IBC and IFC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of fire protection engineering experience in consulting, government, or related industry.
• Experience designing and analyzing fire protection and life safety systems.
• Strong knowledge of CBC, CFC, NFPA, IBC, IFC and related codes.
• Experience reviewing analyses, reports, and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; ability to obtain CA licensure encouraged.
• NICET or ICC certifications a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication with project teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan review of fire protection engineering analyses for various projects.
• Develop fire protection and life safety system designs.
• Review plans for compliance with building, fire, and life safety codes.
• Prepare engineering reports, code analyses, and supporting docs for permits.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and AHJs.
• Provide technical guidance on fire and building code requirements.
• Conduct site visits to verify installations.
• Support permit applications and respond to plan review comments.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Follow company and client policies; deliver services efficiently and client-focused.
