Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent plus intermediate-level engineering work experience.
• Alternate track with a bachelor's in Engineering Technology or Construction Science and Management plus related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering evaluations and analysis as Deputy State Fire Marshal.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure code compliance.
• Assist with code interpretations and enforcement duties for professionals and the public.
• Arrange conferences with officials and design professionals to resolve code issues.
• Conduct or assist field inspections related to plan approvals and construction monitoring.
• Provide training and review work to improve quality and efficiency.
• Provide technical assistance within the Office of State Fire Marshal.
