Job summary

The New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) seeks a Financial Data Analyst in the Entity Risk Management Unit (ERM) to analyze financial data, assess risk, and support supervisory decisions. You will collaborate across departments and prepare analytical materials for senior management.

Minimum qualifications include 3+ years in financial data analysis or related fields, a quantitative degree, and proficiency with Python, SQL, and statistical tools.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in financial data analysis, financial analysis, risk analytics, or related field.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, CS, Data Science, or related quantitative discipline.
• Experience applying statistical/quantitative techniques to financial data.
• Experience with programming or statistical tools including Python, R, SAS, SQL.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative and financial data analysis to support risk assessments and supervisory decisions.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks from internal/external data sources.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and tools for ERM and other units.
• Support risk management reviews and prepare materials for executive management.
