Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in financial data analysis, with prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in data structure assessment, trend analysis, complex data analysis, and reporting accuracy and quality review.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting analytical findings and recommendations to business stakeholders.
• Proficiency with data analytics and business intelligence tools, such as SQL, Excel/Power BI, Python, or similar technologies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the analysis of data trends in data sources and the assessment of data structures.
• Reviews data sources and reports produced by lower-level staff for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Conducts difficult and complex data analysis assignments.
• Meets with business areas to discuss and shape the agency’s strategy for analytics solutions and data-driven decision-making.
• Coordinates or leads the development and evaluation of analytics solutions based on business requirements and available data sources.
• Oversees the drafting of informational and technical documents and materials on analytics solutions.
• Reviews current and planned systems and processes and recommends improvements to data quality, efficiency, reporting, and analytical capabilities.
• Supervises, mentors, and evaluates the performance of a team of analysts.
• Provides technical guidance and serves as an escalation point for complex data quality, analytical methodology, or data interpretation issues.
• Establishes and promotes appropriate standards for data analysis, reporting, documentation, and quality assurance.
• Other duties as assigned.
