Job summary

Uncommon-Schools seeks a Financial Analyst for Real Estate and Debt Management to support home office finance operations, focusing on real estate analysis, modeling, and bond financing. You will help secure capital for facilities and align planning with long-term goals while maintaining compliance.

You will partner with Accounting and external advisors to guide financing strategies, manage debt portfolios, and drive critical decisions.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant experience in finance or real estate.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
• Proficiency in Excel for debt portfolio models, cash flow forecasts, and amortization schedules.
• Solid understanding of core finance principles.
• Experience gathering data and organizing complex documentation for financial transactions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with practical recommendations.
• Demonstrated ownership mindset and ability to work independently end-to-end.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative team player with cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Technological fluency with Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary owner for real estate financing and debt management workstreams.
• Maintain a comprehensive database for bond documents, resolutions, and certificates.
• Manage debt compliance reporting and monitor debt covenants.
• Build long-term forecasting models for debt portfolio and cash flow.
• Coordinate with Accounting to update amortization and debt schedules.
• Support budget development with cash outflow forecasts related to real estate and debt.
• Assist in debt financings with detailed modeling and data gathering.
• Prepare documentation for financing strategies, due diligence, and execution.
• Organize due diligence materials for timely financing closings.
• Conduct market research to evaluate future financing opportunities.
