Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Financial Analyst to support our National Security Sector. This role is fully remote within the United States, with an office in Fairfax, VA and occasional visits there.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's and 2–5 years in Finance (FP&A, program finance or project control), strong Excel skills, and familiarity with government contracting concepts (CAS, FAR, GAAP). Active DoD clearance is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 2–5 years in Finance (Program Finance, Project Control or FP&A)
• Foundational understanding of Government Contracting concepts (CAS, FAR, GAAP)
• Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, formulas); advanced skills are a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; self-motivated team contributor
• Familiarity with contract types (FFP, T&M, Cost Type) is helpful but not essential
• Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoW security clearance; U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial reporting deliverables
• Support Senior Financial Analyst in managing large programs and budgets
• Provide analysis of key program drivers, risks, and opportunities
• Prepare data and analysis for program operational reviews
• Support month-end close: cost accruals, revenue recognition, expense reviews
• Monitor subcontracting spending and approve subcontractor vouchers
• Collaborate with Accounting, Contracts, Procurement and back-office teams
