Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Field Service Technician – Power Generation to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, start-up, and repair on diesel and gaseous power equipment at customer sites. You will travel up to 60-80% including international assignments, supporting safe operation and reliability enhancements.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of technical/trade school plus 3 years field service with mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, or 5+ years without a degree. U.S.

Qualifications

• 2 years of mechanical or technical trade school + 3 years of field service with mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience.
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of field service experience.
• Experience servicing diesel and/or gaseous power generation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of diesel and gaseous power generation equipment, including engines, generator sets, automatic transfer switches, controls, and related mechanical and electrical systems.
• Commission, start up, operate, and test generator set systems while documenting performance data and assisting with issue identification and resolution.
• Travel up to 60-80% to customer sites, with occasional international travel and short-notice assignments.
• Inspect equipment and failed components, document findings, maintain service records, and support root cause analysis.
• Provide technical support to customers and service teams by promoting safe operation and communicating recommendations.
