Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking a Field Service Technician based remotely in Virginia with extensive travel to customer sites on the East Coast. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, reading electrical schematics and mechanical prints, and training customers on product use.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in electrical work, repair and installation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Ability to read mechanical prints.
• Valid Driver's License and REAL ID to fly domestically.
• Pass initial and random drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance on equipment.
• Perform scheduled inspections to prevent failures, including load banking and voltage analysis.
• Read electrical schematics and mechanical prints.
• Train and educate customers on equipment use and value of services.
• Communicate with Dispatch about updates and next assignments.
• Maintain equipment, inventory, and records of services, mileage, expenses, and billable hours.
• Follow safety requirements and regulations.
• Travel frequently to customer locations within assigned area.
• Ability to travel up to 80-90% of the year.
• Frequently move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Share resources like pairing in work vans.
