Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Quality SQA Source Inspector to perform in-process and final inspections of aerospace components and assemblies across supplier sites. This remote/field role requires strong GD&T expertise and the ability to read engineering drawings while supporting travel and data package reviews.

The position emphasizes collaboration with SQEs, documenting nonconformances, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of related experience; OR Graduate Degree with 4 years of related experience; OR in lieu of a degree, 10 years of supplier quality or inspection experience.
• Proficiency in GD&T, inspection of complex assemblies, and inspection documentation practices.
• Skilled in the use of precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Ability and willingness to support domestic and international travel assignments, sometimes on short notice.
• Ability to obtain an US Security Clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 100% due to field work requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections of machined components and aerospace assemblies per drawings.
• Review EIDPs for accuracy and compliance.
• Issue turn-backs for nonconformances and document outcomes.
• Apply GD&T to validate inspection coverage and determine appropriate inspection scope.
• Travel to supplier sites for field inspections and support.
• Collaborate with SQEs and managers to resolve nonconformances and support actions.
