Job summary

Daemen University is seeking qualified supervisors for student teaching and field experiences. Supervisors provide one-on-one support to teacher candidates and observe/evaluate teaching using video analysis software.

They serve as the primary contact between the cooperating teacher and Daemen University, coordinating observations and post-session debriefs via Zoom. Placements run for seven weeks each, with scaffolded teaching and a final takeover by the classroom teacher.

Qualifications

NYS teacher certification in any area is required.
Expertise in instructional pedagogy and learning theory with PK-12 focus.
Familiarity with NYS P-12 learning standards and UDL.
Minimum of three years teaching experience in grades PK-12 or equivalent.
Master's degree in Education or related field.
Familiarity with Zoom and Google Workspace; comfort with video-based supervision.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one supervision for teacher candidates and support reflection.
Observe and evaluate teaching candidates remotely via video analysis tools.
Serve as initial contact between Cooperating Teachers and Daemen University.
Conduct after-school debrief meetings via Zoom; coordinate observations.
Participate in student teaching experiences spanning two placements and durations.
