Job summary

Boston College's Lynch School of Education and Human Development invites applications for part-time, in-person University Supervisors for the 2026‑27 academic year. Supervisors observe and document teacher candidates' professional competencies in alignment with DESE standards and CAP, partnering with school mentors to support developing practice.

Applicants should have PK‑12 teaching or administrative experience, a strong understanding of MA curricula, and a commitment to mentoring teacher

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Education or related discipline.
Five years of PK-12 teaching and/or administrative experience is preferred.
Strong understanding of Massachusetts curriculum standards, planning, assessment, and meeting diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

Understand and support policies, expectations, and state-required evaluations for teacher candidates in practicum field experiences.
Schedule, facilitate, and document observations and meetings with teacher candidates and school-based mentors.
Provide verbal and written feedback to all stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
Document, complete, and submit LSEHD and state-required paperwork and assessments.
Monitor and communicate teacher candidates' academic progress throughout the semester.
Serve as a liaison between LSEHD and PK-12 partnership schools.
Communicate regularly with the Assistant Dean and/or Associate Director of Field Placements.
Participate in virtual orientations and attend monthly meetings for University Supervisors.
Maintain a flexible schedule during PK-12 days and collaborate after-school for licensure documentation.
