Job summary

NXP Semiconductors is seeking a Field Application Engineer for Robotics MCU & Motor Control. This US-based, home-office role supports customers across the country, with preference for CA Bay Area, Boston, Detroit, or Austin metro areas. Travel to customer sites is required.

You will guide MCU selection, bring-up, and software stack integration for robotic systems, from single-axis evaluation to humanoids and AMRs. Strong embedded C/C++ with ARM Cortex-M and motor-control expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong experience in embedded systems for MCU-based motor-control.
• Experience with robotics platforms and motor drives.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and system-level guidance for robotics motor-control solutions.
• Provide hands-on design support including schematic/PCB reviews and debugging.
• Deliver on-site and remote proof-of-concept builds and training.
• Collaborate with product lines to define new robotics-related features.
