Job summary

Koch Finishing Systems is hiring a Field Control Technician (Start-up & Commissioning) to support the installation, commissioning, and service of automated finishing systems across the United States. This field-based role requires residence within 1 hour of an airport and up to 75% travel.

You will diagnose industrial controls, calibrate equipment, read electrical schematics, and collaborate with management and engineering to ensure successful start-ups.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field service, electrical/controls work, mechanical assembly, or equipment commissioning.
• Familiarity with industrial controls (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Master Electrician license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct equipment commissioning, calibration, and functional testing.
• Troubleshoot and debug industrial control systems, including sensors, PLCs, HMIs, and related components.
• Respond to field service calls and resolve technical issues on-site.
• Assist with mechanical installation and start-up of new systems at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, system audits, and support upgrade projects.
• Interface directly with customers, providing technical guidance and training as needed.
• Work closely with project management and engineering to ensure successful installs.
• Document service activities and maintain detailed reports.
• Travel up to 75% (domestic, with occasional international opportunities)
