Job summary

Koch Finishing Systems is seeking a Field Control Technician (Start-up & Commissioning) to support installation, commissioning, and service of automated finishing systems across the U.S. This field-based role requires frequent travel and residence near an airport.

You will perform commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and on-site customer support with a focus on PLC/HMI systems. Travel up to 75% is required, with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in field service, electrical/controls work, mechanical assembly, or equipment commissioning.
• Familiarity with industrial controls (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, etc.).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Master Electrician license preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Conduct equipment commissioning, calibration, and functional testing.
• Troubleshoot and debug industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and sensors.
• Respond to field service calls and resolve on-site issues.
• Assist with mechanical installation and start-up of new systems at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, system audits, and support upgrade projects.
• Interface directly with customers, providing technical guidance and training as needed.
• Work closely with project management and engineering to ensure successful installs.
• Document service activities and maintain detailed reports.
• Travel up to 75% (domestic, with occasional international opportunities).
