Job summary

Koch Finishing Systems is hiring a Field Control Technician to lead start-up, commissioning, and service of automated finishing systems across the U.S. This is a field-based, remote-friendly role with frequent travel to customer sites.

You will perform equipment commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting, interfacing with customers and engineering teams to ensure successful installations and ongoing system reliability. High travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field service experience in electrical/controls work, or equipment commissioning.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays and related industrial controls.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently in the field.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
• Must live within 1 hour of a major or regional airport.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct equipment commissioning, calibration, and functional testing.
• Troubleshoot and debug industrial control systems on-site.
• Respond to field service calls and resolve technical issues.
• Assist with mechanical installation and start-up at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance and support upgrade projects.
• Interface with customers, providing technical guidance and training as needed.
• Work with project management and engineering to ensure successful installs.
• Document service activities and maintain detailed reports.
• Travel up to 75% domestically, with occasional international opportunities.
