Job summary

AMERISAFE seeks a detail-oriented, productivity-driven professional for our Virginia-based Workers' Compensation Claims Team. This remote role conducts investigations, determines compensability, establishes reserves, and issues benefit payments while notifying the State authority.

Collaboration with injured workers, employers, medical and legal professionals ensures proper benefits under Workers’ Compensation laws.

Qualifications

• Claims experience highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or related professional business experience acceptable.
• State license to handle Workers' Compensation claims if required.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills required.
• World class customer service attitude required.
• Ability to learn and use proprietary software and Microsoft Office products is necessary.
• The ability to be self-directed.
• Frequent travel within a designated territory required, but rarely overnight travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and in-person investigations.
• Determine compensability and establish reserves.
• Document decision making and issue benefit payments.
• Make notifications to the State administrative authority.
• Collaborate with injured workers, employers, medical and legal professionals as needed.
