Job summary

AMERISAFE, Inc. in Southwest Florida seeks a detail-oriented Field Auditor to perform virtual and in-person audits, ensuring accurate premium calculations and timely classification changes in line with state and company guidelines.

The role targets a high audit output per year and requires strong independence and customer service skills. The candidate will manage a geographic territory, travel for physical audits, and collaborate with the home office to retrieve completed audits.

Qualifications

• Experience in auditing, accounting or workers' compensation preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking with ability to make decisions or recommendations.
• Excellent customer service and the ability to work independently from home and in the field.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage a geographic territory of policyholder accounts.
• Schedule and complete audits virtually or at a location designated by policyholder.
• Complete interim audits within 90 days of policy inception and final audits within 60 days of policy expiration.
• Examine policyholder records such as accounting, payroll and tax documents, job descriptions and contractor certificates of insurance.
• Research and substantiate accuracy of policy classifications and subcontractors.
• Complete detailed descriptions of policyholder operations and prepare audit reports showing analyses.
• Synchronize accounts with home office for retrieval of audits on a routine basis.
• Travel as needed when audits are in person, including overnight trips.
