Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fiber Optic Design Engineer to support our projects in the Seattle market. As a remote member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing fiber optic networks. This role requires a strong understanding of fiber network architecture, route design, and project coordination. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, efficiency, and reliability of our network projects.

Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 a year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop fiber optic network infrastructure for the Seattle market, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical assessments to determine optimal fiber routes and installation methods.
  • Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and vendors to implement network designs, troubleshoot issues, and maintain quality standards.
  • Prepare, review, and modify design drawings, schematics, and documentation.
  • Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS tools) for fiber design and documentation.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and milestones, ensuring adherence to scope and client requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, local regulations, and emerging technologies in fiber optic infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in fiber optic network design or a related telecommunications role.
  • Proficiency in fiber design software (AutoCAD, GIS mapping tools, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic installation methods, route planning, and network architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Familiarity with Seattle market regulations and infrastructure is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
