Job summary

TEKsystems in Washington, DC seeks a Design Engineer with 4+ years in telecommunications to plan and document OSP/ISP fiber networks and integrate transport tech such as SONET/DWDM.

You will work with GIS and AutoCAD to create network architectures, splicing schematics, and utility communications projects while ensuring permitting and client standards are met. Travel may be required across states. This contract position is based out of Washington, D.C. and includes a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field.
• Desirable certifications: BICSI, RCDD, OSHA 10, AutoCAD Civil 3D, CCNA, DWDM/SONET OEM training.
• Willingness to travel across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Plan and document OSP/ISP fiber networks.
• Integrate transport tech such as SONET and DWDM.
• Ensure permitting and client standards compliance.
• Develop GIS and AutoCAD drawings for network layouts.
