Job summary

Nextlink is seeking a Construction Manager to lead OSP fiber projects across Iowa, including FTTH design and budgeting responsibilities. You’ll manage in-house teams and subcontractors, align with engineering, and ensure safety and timely delivery while maintaining cost controls.

The role requires at least 5 years of FTTH/OSP project leadership, proficiency with Excel and Google Earth, and strong communication and team leadership. Travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years managing OSP construction projects
• FTTH construction leadership experience preferred
• Knowledge of common FTTH PON Design and engineering practices
• Project Management Experience on FTTH projects highly preferred
• Strong with Excel, Google Earth, and various Project Mgmt. databases
• Experience performing site walks, cost estimating, site layout planning
• Team Oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead OSP fiber construction projects and manage budgets, timelines and customer expectations
• Coordinate with planning to prepare cost estimates and route proposals
• Work with senior leadership to plan schedules and resolve obstacles
• Assign resources and monitor workload; ensure safety and compliance
• Prepare written communications to project teams and attend meetings
• Read construction documents and splicing diagrams for FTTH work
• Coordinate with Right of Way and utilities; manage progress meetings
• Foster positive relationships with team members, partners, and municipalities
• Support engineering with feedback on design changes to improve build efficiency
• Meet project goals and produce management reports
• Arrange training as needed and seek opportunities for advancement
