Job summary

Commence is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to lead security assessments and authorization for our federal systems. You will own the day-to-day security posture, coordinate with agency officials, and drive continuous monitoring efforts across CMS, VA, DOD, IRS, and DHS/TSA programs.

The role requires 5+ years in information assurance, with at least 3 years as an ISSO or A&A lead, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

5+ years information assurance or cybersecurity experience, including 3+ years as an ISSO or A&A lead for federal information systems.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with CMS ARS/IS2P2, NIST SP 800-53/171, RMF, CMMC, and HIPAA/HITRUST where applicable.

Responsibilities

Serve as the designated ISSO for assigned federal systems and liaise with agency ISSOs and authorizing officials.
Lead the security assessment, authorization, and continuous-monitoring lifecycle.
Maintain System Security and Privacy Plan, risk assessments, privacy impact assessments, and contingency/incident response plans.
Coordinate with CIO, Cybersecurity Engineers, Compliance Analysts, and PMs across departments.
Ensure compliance with agency requirements and assist in audits and control testing.
