Job summary

The Oregon Small Schools Association (OSSA) is seeking an experienced educational leader to serve as its next Executive Director. This primarily remote position includes travel for legislative sessions, conferences, board meetings, and statewide events.

The successful candidate will report to the OSSA Board, advocate for Oregon’s small school districts, coordinate professional learning opportunities, and oversee financial and administrative operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a superintendent or district-level administrator.
• Strong understanding of Oregon’s public education system.
• Ability to build productive relationships with legislators, state agencies, educational partners, and school leaders throughout Oregon.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership, advocates for Oregon’s small school districts, supports member engagement, coordinates professional learning opportunities, and oversees the Association’s financial and administrative operations.
• Reports to the OSSA Board and ensures strategic direction and operational management.
• Travel for legislative sessions, conferences, board meetings and statewide events.
