We are sharing an opportunity for advanced Excel professionals with deep, hands-on finance experience across financial modelling, valuation, forecasting, and data analysis to contribute to an advanced AI training and model-evaluation initiative.

Selected professionals will design realistic finance-focused Excel tasks, develop accurate reference solutions, evaluate spreadsheet-based outputs, and help research teams improve how advanced AI systems perform complex professional work in Excel. The role is particularly suited to finance practitioners from private equity, investment banking, hedge funds, equity research, accounting, or FP&A who regularly build and review sophisticated spreadsheet models.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modelling & Excel Analysis

• Develop realistic Excel-based finance models and analytical workflows
• Apply three-statement modelling, forecasting, valuation, and financial analysis
• Build tasks reflecting professional investment and corporate-finance scenarios
• Review spreadsheet structure, calculations, assumptions, and outputs
• Apply senior-level financial judgement to modelling decisions

Advanced Excel Development

• Use advanced formulas including XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and dynamic arrays
• Build and evaluate PivotTables, dashboards, and structured analytical outputs
• Apply Power Query and Power Pivot to finance-oriented workflows
• Develop or review macros and VBA where relevant
• Assess spreadsheet design for accuracy, efficiency, and usability

Finance Task & Reference Solution Development

• Design domain-relevant Excel tasks based on real professional experience
• Write accurate and well-structured reference solutions
• Define expected assumptions, calculations, and financial outputs
• Create scenarios involving valuation, forecasting, and investment analysis
• Translate practical finance workflows into repeatable evaluation tasks

AI Output Evaluation & Quality Review

• Evaluate Excel tasks and AI-generated spreadsheet solutions
• Identify formula errors, modelling weaknesses, and incorrect financial assumptions
• Assess whether outputs meet professional finance standards
• Provide precise written feedback explaining required corrections
• Distinguish technically plausible responses from genuinely correct solutions

Research Collaboration & Training Data Quality

• Guide research teams on advanced Excel and finance concepts
• Help close knowledge gaps affecting model performance
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts to maintain evaluation consistency
• Support development of high-quality finance and spreadsheet training data
• Communicate complex modelling decisions clearly to technical and research teams

Ideal Profile

• Advanced professional-level Excel expertise
• Strong command of formulas such as XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and dynamic arrays
• Hands-on experience with PivotTables, dashboards, Power Query, and Power Pivot
• Experience using macros and VBA in professional spreadsheet workflows
• Deep finance experience in private equity, investment banking, hedge funds, equity research, accounting, FP&A, or a comparable field
• Practical experience building three-statement financial models
• Strong knowledge of LBO, DCF, and other valuation methodologies
• Professional forecasting and financial-analysis experience
• Demonstrable career progression within finance or a related analytical field
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain spreadsheet and financial-model decisions clearly
• Previous AI training, human-data annotation, or model-evaluation experience is advantageous but not required

Engagement Details

• Remote — United States only
• Compensation: $70–$100/hour
• Availability requirement: 40 hours per week during weekdays through the end of September, then 20 hours per week thereafter
• Work will involve finance-focused Excel modelling, task development, reference-solution creation, AI-output evaluation, and research collaboration
• Assignments may cover three-statement modelling, LBO and DCF analysis, valuation, forecasting, dashboards, Power Query, Power Pivot, and VBA
• Advanced professional use of Excel within a finance environment is central to this engagement
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded depending on project needs and performance
• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates cannot currently be supported
