Job summary

Blue Star Families in the Washington, DC area seeks a Manager of Events to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Events Team in a virtual environment. You will partner with the Senior Director, Events to craft engaging experiences for members, stakeholders, and government/military leaders.

The role requires 2–4 years of related experience, strong writing and project management skills, and comfort working remotely while coordinating multiple events and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of relevant event experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft and GSuite products.
• Experience and/or comfort working in a virtual environment.
• Commitment to the highest standards of professionalism.
• Ability to quickly gather information via interviews, research, and calls.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed event plans and checklists.
• Track project management for the Events team and approvals.
• Provide day-to-day event team support and Hive management.
• Draft RFPs and manage the proposal process for events.
• Coordinate calls with leadership, partners, and stakeholders; maintain agendas.
