Job summary

Cancer Support Community Greater NY & CT seeks a contracted Clinical Support Group Facilitator to lead psychosocial support groups for people affected by cancer in NY and CT. The role requires clinical oversight and group facilitation within CSCNYCT policies and standards of care.

The position is per-diem and remote, with evening availability. Candidates should hold a Master’s in Social Work or related field and NY/CT licensure, plus 3+ years of oncology/grief experience and liability insurance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or related mental health field from an accredited institution.
• Currently licensed as required by NY and CT.
• Minimum of 3 years post-graduate clinical experience with adults in oncology and grief/loss.
• Maintain professional malpractice/liability insurance throughout the engagement.
• Available for evening hours as group schedule dictates.
• Group facilitation experience required.
• Commitment to CSCNYCT’s mission and program philosophy.
• Knowledge of local community and cancer support services preferred.
• Spanish-language proficiency is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates weekly, monthly or bi-monthly member support group(s) (i.e. Living with Cancer, Post Treatment, Caregiver, Living with Loss).
• Communicates regularly with CSCNYCT Clinical Program Manager regarding new group members and updates on current members.
• Submits a monthly invoice to the CSCNYCT Clinical Program Manager for that month’s work activity.
• Reports administratively to the CSCNYCT Clinical Program Manager.
• Reports clinically to the CSCNYCT Clinical Program Manager.
• Other duties as assigned, based on need, as defined by the CSCNYCT Clinical Program Manager and Program Director.
