Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking an ETL Engineer with deep Java Spring Batch expertise to modernize large-scale ETL workflows for a financial services client. You will translate legacy Informatica processes into scalable data pipelines, build robust transformation logic, and work in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong Java development skills, ETL architecture experience, and a proactive approach to data integration challenges.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on Java and Spring Batch.
• Extensive experience developing enterprise ETL or batch processing applications.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Artifactory.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS (ECS, ECR, EC2).
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience migrating legacy ETL solutions (Informatica preferred).
• Understanding of data integration and data quality techniques.
• Experience in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing Informatica workflows and ETL processes to understand business logic and data transformations.
• Design, develop, and enhance Java Spring Batch applications for enterprise-scale ETL processing.
• Translate legacy ETL workflows into modern batch processing solutions.
• Develop data transformation, validation, and reconciliation logic for data accuracy.
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, and application teams to define migration requirements.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
• Troubleshoot batch processing issues and optimize performance for high-volume data workloads.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, and production support.
• Create technical documentation detailing ETL workflows and migration approaches.
