Job summary

CORRE, Inc is seeking an Environmental Specialist in Wisconsin to perform wetlands delineations, ecological assessments, and environmental documentation supporting transportation projects. This role emphasizes field investigations and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will prepare permit applications, mapping, and supporting materials for WisDOT and other agencies, and coordinate with clients and regulators. Travel to project sites throughout Wisconsin is expected in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, biology, ecology, natural resources, soil science, geology, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Wisconsin DNR Wetland Delineation Professional Assurance status.
• Experience conducting wetland delineations per USACE manual and preparing related documentation preferred.
• Experience supporting WisDOT transportation projects preferred.
• Familiarity with Wisconsin DNR and USACE wetland and waterway permitting requirements.
• PWS or WPIT certification preferred.
• Other environmental certifications may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental field investigations for transportation projects including wetlands delineations, ecological assessments, and waterway evaluations.
• Prepare environmental documentation, permits, mapping, and supporting materials for WisDOT, counties, municipalities, and other projects.
• Coordinate with clients, design teams, and regulatory agencies to ensure environmental compliance and approvals.
• Read and interpret roadway plans, aerial maps, and topographic data to support environmental evaluations.
• Conduct field data collection using GPS/GNSS and maintain accurate field notes and project records.
• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while delivering high-quality work.
• Communicate findings clearly to clients, agencies, and project teams.
