Job summary

EnSafe is seeking an Environmental Project Engineer (Full-time or Part-time) to support projects across Michigan and beyond. This remote role can be based in multiple Michigan cities.

The candidate will design and oversee remedial systems for site cleanup, manage O&M, and coordinate with clients and regulators to ensure compliance. The position requires hands-on remediation experience, data management skills, and the ability to work with diverse teams in a consulting environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. degree in civil/chemical/mechanical/environmental engineering.
• 3–10 years of experience in environmental engineering projects.
• E.I.T or P.E. license preferred.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage O&M of remedial systems and data collection; troubleshoot operational issues.
• Oversee subcontractors and coordinate field activities.
• Assist with design of remedial systems addressing soil, groundwater, and vapor contamination.
• Prepare feasibility studies, remedial action plans, and cost estimates.
• Lead pilot studies, field testing, and data analysis; develop data gaps strategy.
• Write and review technical reports and assist with regulatory documentation.
• Conduct environmental inspections and communicate with clients and regulators.

Education

B.S. in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering (ABET-accredited)
