Job summary

HydroGeoLogic is hiring an Environmental Program Manager I to lead EPA Region 6 contracts, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and drive project delivery. The role supports remote work with travel to sites and offices as needed, with preference for candidates in EPA Region 6.

You will mentor project managers, engage with EPA Region 6 clients, support proposals, and ensure QA/QC and safety standards are met across projects. A strong background in environmental programs is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience including 5 years managing large government contracts and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Prior experience managing EPA Region 6 clients and working with state and local agencies in EPA Region 6.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Project for project scheduling and management.
• Strong leadership and people management abilities, including mentoring and coaching staff.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while focusing on project details.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new technologies and digital tools to improve project delivery and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Staff Management: support EPA program and direct all EPA-related contracts and CLIN project managers within region 6; mentor staff.
• Project Oversight and Delivery: ensure EPA Region 6 projects are delivered on time and within budget; monitor progress and provide strategic direction.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: serve as liaison with EPA Region 6 clients and coordinate with external stakeholders for scope and cost items.
• Proposal and Business Development: lead proposal efforts for EPA opportunities and grow Region 6 EPA portfolio.
• Process Improvement and Standardization: develop internal guidelines for program management and mentor teams; utilize AI tools where appropriate.
