Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS Professional Engineer license and current registration.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline listed (civil, environmental, chemical, etc.).
• Experience with environmental investigation regulations and ability to read and understand engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively, including public speaking with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Investigate human exposure to hazardous materials and review workplans/reports to support defensible investigations and abatement.
• Determine appropriate analytical procedures and collect environmental samples following lab protocols.
• Represent the Department at meetings with stakeholders and agencies to discuss technical issues and public health concerns.
