Job summary

PROtect is seeking an Environmental Consultant I to support industrial clients in navigating environmental compliance, emissions monitoring, and related consulting projects. You’ll work with senior staff on permitting, reporting, and planning to help facilities meet EPA and state requirements across various sectors, including renewables and manufacturing.

Remote work options are available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in an environmental-focused, engineering, or other technical science is required.
• Up to 2 years of environmental consulting, permitting, or compliance experience with understanding of EPA and state regulations.
• Knowledge of general chemical, petrochemical, grain processing, and industrial manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior environmental staff to provide environmental consulting services to clients on related environmental matters, ensuring clients’ compliance with regulations, developing timely and complete reports, conducting assessments, and/or preparing permit applications, environmental plans, and other approvals.
• Help clients understand and implement important requirements prescribed in facility permits, plans, and approvals.
• Guide customers on building a compliance framework.
• Assist clients in developing facility-specific environmental policies, plans, and procedures coupled with implementation.
• May pursue continuous learning opportunities annually.
