Homes and Community Renewal is seeking an Environmental Analyst 1 based in Albany, NY. The role focuses on reviewing environmental compliance for housing and community renewal projects funded through federal and state programs, preparing review documents, and coordinating with agencies to ensure NEPA/SEQRA compliance.

Telecommuting is allowed; the position reports to a Supervisory Environmental Analyst and works 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or geological engineering; environmental planning; environmental studies; environmental science; land use planning; archeology; geography; or landscape architecture
• Two years of experience preparing or reviewing environmental impact statements or providing consultation on environmental impact laws and regulations
• Experience conducting office evaluations and field investigations related to environmental regulatory programs such as water quality, wetlands, air quality, and waste management
• A Juris Doctor or master's degree in a related field can substitute for one year of required experience

Responsabilités

• Reviews environmental compliance for housing and community renewal projects funded through federal and state programs
• Prepares environmental review documents and resolves technical issues
• Provides technical assistance to awardees and coordinates with federal and state agencies to ensure NEPA, SEQRA compliance
