Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the design, governance, and modernization of enterprise infrastructure across large IT environments. You’ll define current, transition, and future-state architectures and drive roadmaps for data centers, databases, storage, and DR.

The role requires deep expertise in architecture frameworks, security/compliance, and strategic vendor collaboration to align infrastructure with business objectives. Remote-USA work options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 16–20 years in enterprise infrastructure architecture, solution architecture, or infra engineering.
• Experience designing and governing large-scale enterprise infrastructures.
• Strong data center, storage, backup, and migration experience.
• Proven enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, governance, and roadmaps.
• Security, compliance, risk management, and disaster recovery understanding.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and vendor solutions.
• Ability to lead cross-functional architecture discussions with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define current/transition/target-state architectures aligned with business goals.
• Govern principles, standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps for data center, storage, and DR.
• Lead architecture assessments for cloud adoption, modernization, and lifecycle management.
• Evaluate alternatives and provide scalable, secure, cost-optimized recommendations.
• Ensure designs meet resilience, continuity, and cyber security standards.
• Lead technology selection, vendor evaluations, and PoC activities.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure architecture alignment across lifecycles.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation and artifacts.
• Provide senior technical leadership during major upgrades and incidents.
• Identify opportunities for standardization and automation.
