About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Architect II to join our data architecture team. In this strategic, high-impact role, you will design scalable enterprise data architectures, implement data governance protocols, and lead end-to-end EDW initiatives. You will work remotely but must align with Pacific Time Zone (PST) working hours.

This position is ideal for a senior-level architect who can seamlessly navigate between technical architecture, stakeholder collaboration, and hands-on development. You’ll lead enterprise data solutions that support clinical, research, and administrative domains—playing a crucial role in advancing our organization's data strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement enterprise-level data solutions across diverse business areas.
• Develop and enforce data governance frameworks for data at rest and in motion.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale EDW projects from planning to deployment.
• Create robust documentation and deliver training for data teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data architecture strategies.
• Design infrastructure solutions supporting the entire data lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• 16+ years in data engineering and architecture roles, including:
• Data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical)
• OLAP, RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle)
• NoSQL solutions
• Hadoop/Cloudera
• Talend
• Large-scale EDW projects
• OR
• 20+ years of relevant IT/business experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience in:
• Data governance implementation
• Data infrastructure design across the full data lifecycle

SQL Skills:

• 3+ years of hands-on SQL development (MS SQL Server or Oracle).

Technology Proficiency:

• Deep expertise in:
• RDBMS, NoSQL, Hadoop ecosystems
• Data service programming and integration

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• OR
• 20 years of equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

• Familiarity with data governance best practices for both structured and unstructured data.
• Experience supporting clinical, research, and administrative data environments.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; strong stakeholder engagement experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives and lead cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
