Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to define and drive the architectural vision for enterprise systems across the health ecosystem. You will lead cross-functional teams, create scalable designs, and align technology with strategic goals.

You will mentor junior architects, evaluate new technologies, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role offers flexible remote work within the U.S. and onsite collaboration in major hubs as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of enterprise architecture, solution architecture, system design, and software development.
• 5+ years of microservices, APIs, RESTful services, and SOA experience.
• 2+ years leading large-scale projects and cross-functional teams.
• 2+ years cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native principles.
• 2+ years healthcare industry experience and familiarity with regulations.
• Experience with modern languages (Java, Python, C#, etc.).
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, and integration technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of architecture frameworks and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute architectural vision aligned with business objectives.
• Create architecture blueprints and technical designs for enterprise systems.
• Lead cross-functional teams to implement scalable, secure solutions.
• Translate business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
• Design integration strategies for complex systems and third-party services.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to teams.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve performance and reliability.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project management to ensure timely delivery.
• Lead PoCs and maintain detailed architectural documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement within the architecture team.
