Job summary

Pentegra Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Enrolled Actuary to support the annual administration of Single Employer Small Plan Pension (Defined Benefit) plans.

This is a fully remote position, enabling collaboration with internal teams across locations. The role involves leading valuations, regulatory filings, and benefit calculations; ensuring compliance with IRS rules and PBGC filings; and guiding plan design and project work.

Qualifications

• Enrolled Actuary (EA) designation is required.
• College degree required.
• Five or more years of pension experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel and Word skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Actuarial valuations and certifications: review and perform funding valuations for defined benefit plans; sign actuarial certifications and reports.
• Regulatory filings and compliance: review and sign Form 5500 Schedule SBs, PBGC filings, valuation reports, and AFTAPs; ensure IRS funding regulations compliance.
• Technical review: review valuation outputs, benefit calculations, and testing; ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Benefit calculations: oversee participant benefit calculations and RMDs per plan provisions and IRS requirements.
• Non-discrimination testing: review 410(b), 401(a)(26), and 401(a)(4) testing results and methods.
• Plan design and new business support: assist with new plan proposals, review plan documents, advise on design and funding strategies.
• Plan amendments and special projects: review and approve amendments, projections, and PBGC terminations.
